Most players open on big tiles: live, films, series. TiviMate opens on television. A channel starts at once, OK brings up the list, and the guide is a real grid: times across the top, channels down the side, the current programme highlighted. People coming from a satellite dish usually stop missing it within a day.
That remote-first design is also why TiviMate lives only on Android-based TV devices: Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV. On those it is quick and deeply configurable. Installing the TiviMate IPTV Player and signing in
We run through this TiviMate setup on both Fire TV and Android TV. Wording moves a little with each release, so go by meaning rather than exact labels.
Install
Android TV and Google TV sets list TiviMate in the Play Store. Fire TV owners sideload it: a downloader from the Amazon Appstore, outside-app permission for that downloader, then the player.
Add a playlist
TiviMate’s first screen asks you to add one. This is where the login goes.
Pick Xtream codes
Of the sign-in types, this one sorts the film and series catalogue and the listings properly.
Type the details
Server address with its http:// start and port number, then username and password, exactly as in our email.
Name it
Something short such as Home. Let channels and guide data download; two or three minutes is normal on a stick.
Open the guide
During playback, OK shows the channel list; the menu’s TV guide entry opens the full grid.

Do I need the TiviMate premium upgrade to watch?
No. Live channels and the guide work in the free version. The upgrade is optional and sold by the app’s developer, not by us.
How do I play something that already aired?
On Gold 4K or Platinum, scroll left in the grid on a channel with replay and select the past programme.
Can TiviMate record?
Recording has been part of the developer’s paid upgrade and needs storage on the device. Catch-up on the upper tiers covers most of what people record for.
Is there a TiviMate version for iPhone or Samsung?
No. On Apple devices use IPTV Smarters Pro or GSE Smart IPTV; on Samsung and LG sets, IBO Player or a stick in the HDMI port.

Paying twice?
The free version and the developer’s upgrade
Installing TiviMate costs nothing, and the core of it, signing in and watching live channels with a guide, works without paying. Some extras sit behind the developer’s premium upgrade. The list has changed between versions, but recording, several playlists at once and some of the favourites tools have been on it. It is bought from the developer, usually through a companion app on a phone.
Your plan pays for the channels. The upgrade, if you want it, pays the people who build the app. Plenty of customers use the free version for a week before deciding. If paying for a player does not appeal, IPTV Smarters Pro and XCIPTV are free alternatives with the same login.

Day one
Settings to change on day one
Switch on start at boot if you want the TV to wake straight onto a channel. In the guide settings, choose how far ahead to load listings; a shorter window keeps older sticks responsive. If programme times look shifted, check the device’s own time zone before touching any offset inside the app.
Under playback, TiviMate offers more than one decoder mode. When a channel stutters on one box, the other mode sometimes cures it. On 4K plans, confirm the stick itself outputs 4K in its display menu, because no app can show more than the device sends. Then set the parental PIN, ideally before the children discover the film groups.
Replay habits
Living with catch-up in the grid
Replay in TiviMate changes how a household watches. A cricket match that runs past midnight, a serial episode missed during school pickup, a late news bulletin after a long shift: on Gold 4K the last three days sit in the grid, and on Platinum the last seven. Channels that support it show a small replay mark; press left in the guide and the past opens up like a timeline.
Two habits help. Keep the guide’s past-days setting in line with your tier, so the grid does not offer what the plan cannot play. And add replay-heavy channels to favourites, because scrolling back on a short list is far quicker than hunting through thousands. Silver has no catch-up, which is worth knowing before you choose.
Hardware
Hardware that keeps the guide quick
TiviMate itself is light, but a long channel list plus several days of listings still needs memory. A Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max, a certified Android TV box with 2 GB of RAM or more, or a Google TV device all handle it comfortably. Older Full HD sticks cope with Silver, yet slow down when asked to load a week of listings.
For Gold 4K and Platinum, choose hardware that outputs 4K and connect it by cable or on the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band. Leave some storage free as well; the guide cache grows quietly over the months.
